Since 2013, the Kleščec white variety has been a recognized autochthonous variety of the Kalnik vineyards. It is on the national list and is recommended for production in the Croatian Uplands region. Raising of the base nursery of seedlings resulted in establishing conditions for production of certified vine cuttings and its stronger spread. During 2016, 2017 and 2018, as part of this research, an analysis of the yield and quality of grapes / must of the Kleščec white variety was conducted at six micro-locations: Cerovec, Draganovec Breg, Kalnik, Kloštar Podravski, Široko Brezje and Rasadnik. The results show that in terms of analysis parameters the Kleščec white variety is very similar to other recommended varieties in the area of analyzed microlocations. With the reduction of yield per vine, it is to be expected that the quality of grapes / must of Kleščec white variety could be at an even higher level, which could set the path for Kleščec white variety to become a representative brand of Kalnik vineyards in Croatian Uplands region.
