RELATIONSHIP OF GENETIC VARIANTS MILK PROTEINS WITH PRODUCTION AND QUALITATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF COW MILK
Keywords:
genotype, β-lactoglobulin, κ-casein, αS1-casein, milkAbstract
The quantitative and qualitative lactation characteristics were partly clarified by structural and functional changes of genes which affect on the physiology of the mammary glands. The amount of milk in the new breeding guidelines is often expressed through the amount of useful substances, primarily milk fat and proteins in milk. The discovery of polymorphic variants of genes which affect on the physiology of the mammary glands and their connection with quantitative and qualitative production characteristics opens the possibility of additional improving production predispose individuals and populations, for it is especially interested in dairy processing sector. Object of presented review was to determination of the polymorphic allelic variants of αS1-casein, κ-casein and β-lactoglobulin and their interactions with the quantitative and qualitative lactation characteristics of some cattle breeds.
